A "Jolley" Visit

My parents came to visit us last weekend and we had so much fun seeing them! They were only here for 3 days, but boy did we make it an action-packed weekend. On Friday we went to a place called Kemah Boardwalk. This place was so cool and it was such a beautiful day outside so it was a perfect day to visit. It is on the way to Galveston and it has tons of fair rides/games, shops, places to eat, and a boardwalk next to the ocean.

My dad was determined to win at this game . . . and he did! Look at the intensity on his face - he's got the eye of the tiger for sure.

We went to some pretty gardens near our place. It's on an old Houstonian estate so we got a tour of the house and then walked around the gardens after.

My mom and I love hydrangea's! They are such pretty flowers.
Yep. . . that's my third and final visit to the rodeo! I'm pretty much an expert now at this whole rodeo thing so if you have questions, come see me. My parents couldn't visit Texas without going to the Rodeo. There was a girl that was doing barrel racing from Fresno - we were so excited and cheered way loud for her!
I love fair food! This corn was amazing!

Jeff and my dad and our friend John went trap shooting on Saturday morning. Here's Jeff looking tough.

ohhh. . . . BABY!

That's right, I'm pregnant!!! I am about 9 weeks along and due around October 19. Jeff and I couldn't be more excited to have a little one around the house. So far I have been feeling great, just REALLY tired! Everday I get home from work all I want to do is crash on the couch. I am told this should get better by the second trimester, so I'm counting on that! We went to the doctor the other day to hear the heartbeat but couldn't since it was still too early so instead we got an ultrasound and were able to see the heart flickering on the monitor. It was definitely a surreal moment seeing the heartbeat and knowing that there is a baby living and growing in me. I feel like I am going to be in this "surreal" state for the next 7 months or so. The whole thing is such a miracle; there really is just no other way to explain it.

Rodeo 2

So, my work gave us Rodeo tickets, so we went again. This time the seats were amazing though. Yes, we will be going to the rodeo for a third time when my parents come in town next week. Wow.

A day at the Park

Last weekend we went with some friends to check out a park downtown. We took a picnic and had a fun time hanging out and relaxing. The boys played football and horse shoes while the girls talked. My friend Talane just had her baby girl Lily a few weeks ago so it was great to see them and hold Lily. I was pretty much a baby hog and didn't want to stop holding her! She is so little and such a good baby.

The Girls

John and Jeff attempted to fly Bonnie's mini 3D kite. We got a kick out of seeing the two of them running around the park trying to get this kite to fly!

Happy Birthday Barbara Jean Nielsen Schill!

Just wanted to give a shout out to my Mom, whose birthday is today. To this day, I have yet to meet a sweeter and kinder person than my mom, and she is constantly thinking about the well being of others before her own. Pretty much...I have the best mom. A beautiful person, inside and out. I love you so much mom! You're the best.

Love, Jeff

Houston Rodeo and Rascal Flatts!!!

So, Jeff and I went to the famous Houston Rodeo and it was incredible! We definitely feel like real Texans now! The rodeo is a huge event down here in Houston and runs everyday in the month of March. All the girls get dressed up in there cowboy hats, rhinestone shirts, jean skirts, and cute cowboy boots, so of course I had to wear a cowboy hat, but I still need to buy some cowgirl boots. They have a livestock show where you see all the animals, then they have a huge carnival and a TON of food booths and BBQ competitions, with really good Texas BBQ. Then at night they have the Rodeo in Reliant Stadium, which is where the Houston's NFL team plays. The Rodeo was amazing and Jeff and I kept laughing at all the funny competitions they had. It was really entertaining. Then they had the bull-riding, and Jeff and I cheered on some Utahns thathad made it from Payson and Tooele. After they had a fireworks show and after each rodeo, they have a concert afterwards and that night Rascal Flatts played and they were amazing!!! Such a fun night...here are some photos and post below of the festivities.

Video of Amazing Fireworks at Rodeo, they put on a really good show

Rascal Flatts was amazing!!!! I seriously had so much fun singing all of their songs. They sound really good live and the show was awesome with the lights and the fireworks. I love going to concerts where you actually know the words to the songs and it was crazy that I knew just about every song word for word. Here are some videos.
