What better way to start the summer than with swim lessons?! Jamisen took lessons again this year from Ann Buchanan. She is the greatest teacher and we love going to her! She has been teaching forever and I'm not sure how many more years she will teach but hopefully enough to teach Jackson as well. By the end of the lessons Jamisen was jumping off of the diving board and swimming to the edge of the pool. He was having a hard time lifting his head for a breath but we continued to work on that at my mom's house and he got a lot stronger.

Jamisen with Mrs. Makely. He went to her preschool in her home for 2 years. He made a lot of progress and learned a lot in that time.
Jamisen with Miss Shelbi. I think this preschool was a really good transition for him to go from a home preschool to actual elementary school next year. It is such an adorable little school!
The kids did a really cute "Under the Sea" performance for the parents - I loved seeing all of them in their cute nautical clothes and hats!

Jeff and Ryan had to work in Monterey in June so we tagged along for a trip. It also happened to be Father's Day weekend so we had fun celebrating Jeff in one of our favorite places. These boys adore their daddy! I am so grateful for the wonderful father he is.
No trip to Monterey would be complete without a visit to the Aquarium. I loved this photo because it shows the special bond Jamisen and his cousin Kaitlyn have. She is two years older than him and is always taking care of him and teaching him things like a big sister would.

Jamisen took tennis lessons. I didn't get good pictures of him doing the lessons but here is little brother watching and wishing he could play along.
We drove to LA one weekend to buy a new car! It was time to say goodbye to the Azera. As much I love my new "mom car", I was super sentimental about selling the Azee zee. That was the car we bought when we moved to Texas and it's the car we brought both of our babies home from the hospital in. It went to a girl starting college at Fresno State so maybe I'll see it one day around town!
Since we bought the new car I have found the boys on several occasions holding hands in the backseat. The other day we were driving and Jamisen put his hand out and said, "Jackson...hand" and then Jackson gave him his hand. I think it's the perfect amount of contact for each boy. In Jackson's case, he can give his hand to Jamisen but feel confident that Jamisen is strapped down and won't full on attack him, while Jamisen gets to cuddle his baby brother and Jackson doesn't resist him like most other times. Either way, I think it's pretty much the sweetest thing!
