Family Pictures

In July we had some family pictures taken.  The last time we did family pictures was when Jamisen was 9 months old and our friend Kalina took some for us at a park in downtown Houston before we moved.  Since Jamisen is almost 3, we thought it was due time for an updated picture! Funny story about when we were taking them: we asked my nephew if he could come along and help entertain Jamisen and keep him smiling for us.  Jeff gave him his keys so Braden could shake them and make faces so Jamisen would laugh.  Well when he was shaking them he accidentally tossed them in the koi pond that is behind the bench in the first picture below.  We were totally panicked because it was a dirty pond and totally impossible to see them, let alone nasty to put our arms in and "fish" (haha) around for!  Lucky for us Jeff saw a little flicker in the water, put his arm in and came right up with them! I was shocked and sooo relieved!  After that fiasco the rest of our picture taking was uneventful.  I loved so many of them, and can't decide which are my favorites!

July-ness

Newport 2012

Chowing down on a frozen banana

Holding my cousin Candice's newborn baby girl Hailey

The boys and the boogie boards...they are obsessed
                                                               17 weeks pregnant
                                                                 The girls at dinner
On Monday night we wanted to do a hot dog/s'mores roast. We had to go down early in the morning and leave some stuff at one of the beach fire pits to be able to get one for a fire later that night.  We were desperate to get one, so Jeff wrote on a paper plate "Reserved for the "Make-a-Wish Foundation" Orange County Chapter".  It worked, we got a spot!  I guess no one had the heart to take the fire pit after reading that!  :)
                                                                     Roasting hot dogs
Jeff bought a two man kayak back in December and has been itching to bring it down to Newport to ride it in the ocean and in the Newport canals and bay.  He loaded it on our truck and we got it down there. It was fun to cruise around.
This is one of my favorite photos...Jamisen and his cousin Cole working it in their diapers
Before we went down to Newport, we took a little weekend trip to Monterey to visit Jeff's parents and brother family that just moved there. It was a pretty day.  This is overlooking the bay in Carmel.
July 14th was Bastille Day (basically Independence Day for France), so we had a celebratory crepe at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey.
Roasted Marshmallows on the beach in Monterey.  As you can see, Jamo was enjoying himself.

We celebrated the 4th of July in Fresno with a swim party, a BBQ, and ended it with fireworks at our house at night.  Jeff's brother's family and his parents came over to celebrate with us.
Uncle Ryan, Jamisen and Isabella swimming

Jamisen is a pyro.  The look on his face in this photo says it all

Fireworks in front of our house

I had to take a photo of this. Jeff was trying to fix the sprinklers in the backyard one night after work and Jamisen wouldn't stop clinging onto his back.

My freshman/sophomore college roommate Adele came to town and we had a BBQ at our house with our friend Ashley and their families.  Here is Adele, me, and Ashley
Jeff's had a party for his Sunday School class at our house.  We played a bunch of games including the "Flour game".  Poor MaKenna made the tower fall so she had to face plant in the flour to get the penny out!
What's a party without some Wii dance?
Jamisen went camping with Jeff up in Sequoia National park for the Father and Sons Outing

Parker & Kayleigh get married...and the return to Utah

My little brother Parker got married at the end of May in Utah and it was such a beautiful wedding.  I am so happy to have another sister in law! Here are some pics Jeff took of the wedding below.

Delicious Italian Sodas...Jeff told me to do an "artsy" pose....this is the best I could come up with :)
This picture makes me laugh. While I was dancing with Jamisen he was going to town on a cake pop (probably his 6th one for the night!) He was just the right height to reach all of the desserts at the dessert table so he took full advantage of sneaking lots of sweets when we weren't watching!

Kayleigh did such an amazing job on decorating for the reception.  No detail was left undone! Everything was so cute, it was a wedding straight out of Pinterest! On each table she had cute little chalkboards where people could write messages to them and then take a picture with a disposable camera. I decided to use the chalkboards to send out a little announcement of our own...Baby #2 on the way!!!!
Love this picture the wedding photographer got! He looks like he just got "caught in the act".  I'm guessing there is a piece of candy hiding behind his back! ;)

It was so good to be back in Utah as well.  Since Jeff and I are both BYU alumni, we have already started to indoctrinate our son about BYU...and he has become a full-on fan.  He knows the fight song and loves to chant "Go BYU! Go BYU!".  We had to visit the cougar, LaVell Edwards Stadium, and the BYU Bookstore.

                                                                             Hogle Zoo
                                                              This is the place monument
There is an awesome french fry and waffle place in Salt Lake City called "Bruges" that we discovered.  It was so good. We came back multiple times to fulfill my pregnancy cravings!
We checked out the new "City Creek" mall in SLC.  It's such a beautiful mall and the kids had so much fun running around trying to dart the fountains shooting from the ground.

These two photos make me laugh so hard.  To tell my family that we were pregnant, Jeff got my family together for a picture and then when he took it he said "One...Two...Three...Say Ashley's pregnant!".  You can see by the confused look on everyone's face that they are trying to process what he just said, and then the reaction in the picture below.  It was fun to get everyone's reaction in a photo.

As usual when we visit Utah, we had another roomie reunion with all my freshman roommates from BYU (minus Krystal).  It's so crazy that we have 10 kids (and counting!) between us now.  Jamo loved all the little friends, especially the babies.  He is going to be such a good big brother.

We pulled the same "baby photo announcement" with my roommates as well.  I love Adele's reaction...she was the only one to get it.

Since Jeff found out he was having a boy, he has been wanting to take Jamisen fishing to his favorite fishing spot growing up, Payson Lakes.  He fulfilled his dream and took Jamisen out in a canoe with his brother and neice Courtney and Jamisen caught his first fish!  He and Jeff were in heaven!!!

So good to see our friends Ben and Vanessa again...and Jamisen got to see his little girlfriend Chole.

He also got to see his other little girlfriend Lenna.  Jamisen is one lucky guy with all of these cute little girls to choose from!
Always fun to get to stay with our friends Luke and Cassi and little Lenna. We always stay up late laughing until 2 am.
The perfect way to end a trip is to have a Memorial Day breakfast of Malgleby's french toast.
It was nice to be able to be up in Utah for Memorial Day so we could visit Jeff's sister's grave.  I wish I could have met Debbie.
The party continued back in Fresno, where we had an open house for Parker and Kayleigh...

This is one of my favorite pictures from the night. Jamisen and his cousin Cole were hiding in a bush and wouldn't come out.  Jeff and Lynnsey told them there were spiders, bugs, etc in the bushes to try to get them out but to no avail. Finally when they heard there was ice cream they came out! These two are quite the mischievous pair! :)
