For Thanksgiving we took a little trek up to Portland, OR to see that city and spend time with Jeff's sisters family before they moved from there. I had never been to Portland so I wanted to see it while we still had a place to stay. The city is absolutely beautiful! We love it there. Thanks Jo and Carl for hosting us. Here are some pictures from the trip:

Cute little Jamo and their dog "Schroeder" looking for deer on Thanksgiving morning. :) Jamisen LOVED Schroeder and was attached at the hip the whole time we were there.

One thing about Portland is that it is very eclectic...well I guess more like just plain weird. People, stores, culture...you are bound to see anything and everything. At least they are proud and embrace it...

Okay...so there is this famous doughnut shop in downtown Portland called "Voo-Doo" doughnut. Seriously...SO GOOD. If you are ever in Portland...it is a must! Definitely the best doughnuts you will ever have. They have a ton of creative variations of different ones...

The "Voo-Doo" doughnut

Capitan Crunch Doughnut...one of our favorites...

I was in love with all the beautiful flower shops around town

The Oregon coast is incredible

Jamisen loves to do "family hugs"...he will say "family hug!" and then grab Jeff and me like this and squeeze really tight. We love it.

Jeff had to go back to work in downtown San Francisco for the rest of the month so we took the route along the coast back to California. It was amazing. Beautiful coastal towns, big tall redwoods, "Paul Bunyan" as you can see above, and then the most amazing drive through Napa Valley to get to San Francisco...this drive should be on everyone's bucket list.

Napa Valley is incredible! Especially in late November because the colors of the vineyards are so vibrant. It was a beautiful sunny day and now Jeff and I want to live here.

We stopped at this amazing town in Napa Valley called "Yountville" and went to the famous Bouchon Bakery so Jeff could taste some of his French treats. The town was so pretty is all of the fall colors.

The family hug comment is my favorite! Jack likes to do that but then he clinks your heads together and says, "cheers". haha, it's so funny! I loved all your updates and photos.
