Jeff turned the big 3-0 at the beginning of October and he said he wanted to go to the Bay area to celebrate. I of course had no objections! Last year we bought season passes to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and we needed to get some use out of them before they expired so we decided to go there on Saturday. We met up with my cousin and his family that live in the area and had a fun day going on the rides and seeing some shows. On Sunday we drove up to see Napa Valley. It was an absolutely perfect day - blue skies, white billowy clouds and high 70's. Later in the evening we drove back to San Francisco and walked around Sausalito. On Monday we crossed over the Golden Gate bridge and spent the day in San Francisco. By Monday night Jeff thought our trip was over and he was not looking forward to ending the festivities. Luckily, I had made arrangements without him knowing to have Tuesday (his actual birthday) off of work and for us to drive to Monterey to celebrate his birthday with his family. He was surprised and so excited when I told him the fun wasn't going to end just yet! :) So Monday night we drove to Monterey and then spent Tuesday riding bikes around Pebble Beach, eating fish and chips, going to the Farmer's Market and having dinner, cake and ice cream with his family. Jeff commented on how "poetic" it was that he was back in Monterey, where he was born, 30 years later. I had not made this connection....but I'm going to claim it and say that was my plan all along! ;)

We ate lunch at an awesome burger joint called Gott's Roadside. We saw a long line and figured it must be good - it did not disappoint!
27 weeks pregnant
We stopped in Sonoma at "Traintown" and got to ride on a mini train along 4 miles of track over bridges and through tunnels.
We made a stop along the ride at a miniature town and got to explore the buildings and feed the animals at the petting zoo
Sausalito
We discovered a cool lighthouse right outside of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Jeff's mom watched Jamisen for us so we could ride bikes around 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach and then get some fish and chips at cannery row afterwards. We lucked out on the weather and it was a gorgeous day for a bike ride

I just had to post this one because it makes me laugh. Noah and Tennyson are so good to Jamisen and completely dote on him and he absolutely adores them. I think he feels pretty cool hanging with the "big kids"
Jeff's mom went all out to make one of Jeff's favorite dinners-chicken pillows.
She also made this fabulous cake. This is in honor of our orange kayak that Jeff has enjoyed taking out this summer.
