April 2013

Some highlights from April.............

Jamisen played T-ball.  He was so cute in his little uniform and he loved it. He was on the Oakland A's. He did such a good job hitting and running after the ball.  Here are some photos of this little cutie playing ball.  Go A's!!

Jamo's Team....  Go Athletics!

Jamisen and a proud Daddy!!  It was fun to see Jeff so proud to see his son play.

                                                                         Eye of the Tiger!

It was so cute...when Jamisen did a good play he would turn back to us and do two thumbs up back to us. He was very proud of himself.

Our ward had an adult Pinewood Derby and Jeff and Jamisen made a "Hot Dog" car

So our neighborhood had a block sale and so we decided to try and de-junk our house and sell some stuff in our house.  Jamisen wanted to sell some stuff too so we ended up getting some Lemons from my Nana's tree and he sold them to people as they came.  Needless to say, he flashed his baby blue eyes and sold all the lemons.  May have gotten some sympathy money, but he ended up making almost as much as we sold!  Hmmm...maybe we are on to something?
Sunday cuteness

BYU mens soccer came to Fresno to take on the "Fresno Fuego".  We had to go downtown and cheer on our Cougs!!

Conference weekend we went to Monterey to watch Conference with Jeff's parents and brother's family.  We packed a ton in inbetween all the sessions.
Jeff brought his kayak and he went out with his brother Ryan and his boys out in Monterey Bay...it was a beautiful sunny and warm day.  Perfect to spend at the beach and on the water.
At night we had a beach campfire at Carmel Beach...starting to be a tradition every time we go out there.

March 2013

March started off with Jackson's Blessing Day on March 10, 2013.  We were blessed to have so much family in town for his blessing.  We missed Jeff's mom as she was in Australia helping his sister Julie who just had her baby boy.  However, she has a special connection to his blessing day since he was blessed on her birthday! Jackson was wide awake for his blessing but was a perfect angel and didn't make a peep.  After his blessing we went to our house for a luncheon and he slept through the majority of his party!  He is such a sweet baby.
I don't think he could be any cuter!
We are grateful for all of the family that traveled to be with us on this special day

Family of Four!

Thanks to everyone bringing food we had a delicious lunch...pulled pork sandwiches with homemade coleslaw, fruit tray and dips, macaroni salad, green salad, and chips.

For Valentine's Day Jeff surprised me with tickets to the Carrie Underwood Concert. I had dropped hints long ago about wanting to go but had no idea that he was paying attention! I was so excited! That girl can sing! I'm not huge into concerts and the only concerts I've wanted to go to are Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood and Boyz II Men. I got to see Rascal Flatts at the Houston Rodeo so the only one left on my list is Boyz II Men....hint hint Jeff ;)

She is seriously gorgeous and I loved it when she sang two of my favorites...Temporary Home and Jesus Take the Wheel. They are so touching and have a great message
Jackson's First day at Church. I wish I had a better picture of his outfit...This was one of my favorite outfits from Jamisen.  He looked like a little man in his grey slacks and argyle sweater!

Jamisen and his cousin Abby admiring the sea lions at the Chaffee Zoo

For Valentine's Day I surprised Jeff with a weekend getaway to Santa Barbara and Solvang.   I had been wanting to show him Solvang for some time and was excited for him to see it.  It's a little Danish town full of European Charm.

where does the time go?!

Don't you just want to kiss those pouty lips?!

January & February 2013

We've spent the last 2 months at home, trying to avoid all of the sickness that has been going around this winter.  I'm pretty sure I don't want to have another winter baby! I was constantly worried about Jackson catching the flu that I quarantined us for the last 8 weeks.  It seemed to help because we've miraculously stayed healthy (minus Jeff and I catching a 24 hour flu bug 6 days after Jackson was born). We spent our days sleeping, changing diapers, snuggling, watching movies, playing games, reading books, playing the iPad and everything else you can dream up to entertain a 3 year old! I'm not gonna lie, some days were long but we were lucky to have so much family around to help out.  My mom was a huge help during the first 2 weeks at home.  Then Jeff's parents stopped by on their way home from driving to Texas over the Christmas break and they helped hold Jackson and play with Jamisen.  Then one weekend Jeff's brother Ryan and his family came to visit and helped out. I was nervous about sending Jamisen to primary when I wasn't at church so my sweet sister-in-law Angela took Jamisen to his first day in Primary while they were here and stayed with him the whole time. Funny side note, he was so tired from playing all day Saturday with his cousins that he completely fell asleep in her lap during Primary.
Here are some picture highlights:

More Visitors!
Clockwise from top left: Cousin Kaitlyn, Uncfle Ryan and Aunt Angela, Nana GG (my Grandma), cousins Tennyson, Noah and Isabella, Grandma Schill  (I don't have a picture of Jackson meeting Grandpa Schill because they are on my mother in law's camera)

Jeff gave his brother Ryan a "Jeff haircut" while they were visiting us.  It's a little freaky how much they look alike!

Snuggle time on the couch. To say Jamisen is completely obsessed with his baby brother would be an understatement! He can not stop touching, kissing, and hugging Jackson.  It is really sweet and I love that he isn't jealous but at times it can become very smothering and poor Jackson is not the biggest fan!
We've had some really warm days in February so we took the kids to the zoo one Saturday.  Jamisen had fun feeding the giraffes.

  • Overall Jamisen has been over the moon about having a sibling.  The only time he showed some jealousy was one night when he was overtired.  He had been getting in trouble and going to time out and after one time out he told Jeff  "I want the baby to go back in mommy's tummy".  Then a little bit after that he asked me to wrap him up in a blanket.  I put it around his shoulders but he got mad at me and said "not like that! Daddy will show you".  He then spread the blanket out on the ground and we realized he wanted to be swaddled like Jackson.  We humored him and went along with it.
  • When Jackson was born we gave Jamisen a pirate ship and told him it was a gift from his baby brother. He was ecstatic and soon after we were home one morning he told me, "mom that was so nice of my baby brother to give me a pirate ship.  I'm going to tell him thank you." Then he went and gave him a kiss.
  • Jamisen told me that Jackson is his best friend
